OUR MISSION
The Center for Immunobiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine is committed to be a worldwide leader in the investigation of the immunological basis of disease.

Director David Wilkes, MD, leads an interdisciplinary group of faculty from one of IUSM's most modern research facilities. Co-director is Janice Blum, PhD, professor of Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology.

PRIMARY GOALS
  1. To develop interdepartmental, collaborative, basic science, clinical and translational research programs focused on organ transplant immunology, autoimmunity, innate and acquired immunity and the immunobiology of cancer.
  2. To develop training programs for MD and PhD post doctoral fellows.
  3. To serve as a pipeline for the recruitment of MD and PhD students into careers of research related to the immunobiology of human diseases.
  4. To develop philanthropy as a means to augment the mission and support of the Center.
